My inspirations come from a wide variety of sources: a walk in the woods on a crisp autumn day or on the beach on a hot, hazy summer day; a piece of exquisite fabric; a painting; an old photograph; a flower or a bird. The source may vary but the important presence of color and beauty never does.

This particular piece of Italian silk is directly responsible for my start in jewelry design. It is what I saw behind that crystal lamp. The colors in the fabric became garnets, amethysts, tanzanite, imperial topaz, labradorite and smoky quartz. I would not have thought of combining those gems before.
