My inspirations come from a wide variety of sources: a walk in the woods on a crisp autumn day or on the beach on a hot, hazy summer day; a piece of exquisite fabric; a painting; an old photograph; a flower or a bird. The source may vary but the important presence of color and beauty never does.

I fell in love with the glistening orbs of snow globes when I was a very little girl, and I cried for hours the first time I saw that mean old governess break Heidi’s snow globe in the Shirley Temple movie. My son Graham gave me this particular snow globe when he was a little boy. It sits on my desk year-round so I can make it “snow” whenever I want.
